Want to help spread the BreadBreakers movement to a new community?

Need support with something different or just want to talk?

We’re here, and we’d love to be connected with you.

The Process

Introductory Meeting

We’ll talk on Zoom (or in-person if possible) and talk about BreadBreakers, the process of starting a community, your hopes and goals, your local context, how The Bakery will support you, and the expectations for each BreadBreakers community. If you’re able to travel to a planned BreadBreakers event, you can even come see it for yourself!

Affirmation of Intent

A simple signed form confirming that you and (if applicable) your congregation want to start a BreadBreakers community and agree to our community expectations.

Team-Building and Training

Recruiting the people who’ll launch the community alongside you (within and even beyond your congregation), then learning the BreadBreakers method and table host techniques. We’ll give you advice and support and make sure you get the training you need. Avenues include online meetings, in-person trainings, and you attending BreadBreakers events to learn by doing.

Practicing, Experimenting, and Listening

Every community’s story is different, but those of us who started the first BreadBreakers community found that trying it out, practicing, and learning by doing it among our congregation was a great way to start. This “pre-launch” time is also an opportune time for listening in your local neighborhoods, learning about your community needs, understanding your community context, and seeking out partners.

Launch

Inviting people from the wider community and starting up a regular cadence of gatherings. You can start small, big, in whatever format and way works for your context. And as you learn, experiment, and grow, we’ll be there at every step to walk alongside you.
